BTS’ J-Hope dances his way around the world in the new trailer for his upcoming docuseries, Hope on the Street, premiering March 27 on Prime Video. The series will be accompanied by a special album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1, arriving March 29.

The six-part series will follow J-Hope as he meets with different street dancers in cities around the world and learns about their respective styles. The trailer teases popping in Osaka, Japan, locking in Seoul, house in Paris, hip-hop in New York, and neuron in Gwangju, South Korea.

At the same time, Hope on the Street — which is spun off from J-Hope’s long-running digital video series of the same name — promises to be a personal exploration. As J-Hope puts it in the opening moments of the trailer: “I started with dance, and that dancing led to many other things. I’m curious about it. What kind of dancing did I do, and what are my roots? What is the future that I’m dreaming of?”

As for the accompanying album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1 will feature six songs, each of which will be closely linked to the episodes in the series. Except for the opening track, “On the Street,” each song will be a collaboration, with guests including J-Hope’s BTS bandmate Jung Kook, Benny Blanco, Nile Rodgers, Le Sserafim’s Huh Yun-Jin, JINBO the Superfreak, and Gaeko and Yoon Mirae.

Hope on the Street (both the show and album) comes as J-Hope continues to complete his mandatory military service in South Korea. He enlisted last April and offered fans an update in October, writing: “Although I am working hard and adapting faster than I expected, I feel a lot of pressure… because my role is to lead and help young Koreans take their first steps in the military organization.”
