Official Annoucement
More than 80 years after its debut, Bing Crosby’s iconic holiday classic “White Christmas” is getting a fresh twist, thanks to a collaboration with V of BTS. The remix, set to drop on December 6, 2024, will feature the 28-year-old K-pop star joining Crosby, who originally recorded the song in 1942, for a cross-generational duet.

The project, a collaboration between the Bing Crosby Estate, Primary Wave Music, and Geffen Records, is being hailed as an “era-bridging” musical moment. The remix marks 47 years since Crosby’s last iconic duet, “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy,” recorded in 1977 with David Bowie.

In a statement, V expressed his excitement about working with the late legend: "I’m so grateful to have had the chance to be featured in a song with my all-time favorite jazz artist, Bing Crosby," V said. "I grew up listening to his song ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ countless times a day, and I feel incredibly fortunate and honored to have sung along on ‘White Christmas’ with the voice of someone I consider an idol.”

V, who has previously covered holiday classics like “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” added, “Being a huge fan of his, I sang with the utmost sincerity and admiration for him. I hope many people enjoy it as much as I enjoyed singing it. Lastly, I wish a lovely holiday season to everyone listening to the song.”

“White Christmas,” originally recorded for the 1942 film Holiday Inn and later featured in the 1954 film White Christmas, remains the best-selling single of all time. Though it was released a full 16 years before the creation of the Billboard Hot 100, the song first appeared on the chart in 1958 and reached a peak position of No. 12 in 1962.

Crosby passed away in 1977, but his legacy continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. Crosby’s daughter, Mary Crosby, shared her family's joy over the posthumous collaboration: “As a family, we are thrilled to have V and Dad singing together on this ultimate Christmas song. Their voices blend beautifully, capturing the holiday spirit in the best possible way.”

Harry Crosby, the legendary singer’s son, also expressed his support: “We are happy that V will help share the joy of this timeless Christmas song.”

The release of “White Christmas” featuring V comes nearly a year after the BTS member’s solo single “FRI(END)S” reached No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100. V has also previously collaborated with artist Umi on the 2023 duet “Wherever U R.”

Currently, V is serving his mandatory military enlistment in South Korea, along with four of his BTS bandmates: SUGA, RM, Jimin, and Jung Kook. Meanwhile, Jin and J-Hope have already completed their service, with full BTS group activities expected to resume in 2025.

Fans can look forward to hearing V’s fresh take on this holiday classic when the White Christmas remix drops on December 6.
