The South Korean government said it will be releasing special-edition stamps in June featuring the country's most famous pop idols, BTS.
Korea Post, the nation's postal service operator, will issue the commemorative stamps on June 13 to coincide with the boy band's 10th anniversary of their debut.
A set of stamps, featuring 10 designs highlighting BTS's hit singles such as Dynamite, Butter and Proof, will be priced at around $5.90 with a planned production of 1.5 million sets.
Another 250,000 sets of stamps in packets, priced at around $15, will also be available. They will also be comprised of 10 different designs but contain various portraits of the band.
This will be the first time that an active musician or a music band is honored by Korea Post with a stamp.
An online presale event for the BTS stamps is set for May 22-25 for South Korean citizens. International BTS fans will be able to purchase them starting June 1 on a dedicated website.
"It's very meaningful to be able to issue BTS stamps, as the band has been at the forefront of promoting Korean pop music across the globe," Korea Post CEO Son Seung-hyun said in a statement.
Since its launch in June 2013, BTS has catapulted to become the most popular boy band in the world.
In 2021, the septet became the first Korean act to perform at Grammy Awards, winning the Artist of the Year award at the American Music Awards the same year.
Last June, the band announced it was pausing performance as a group and that members would pursue solo projects in the interval before their military duties began.
