BTS’s Jungkook has already made Spotify history with his new solo album!
On November 3, Jungkook released his first-ever solo album “GOLDEN,” which immediately soared to the top of iTunes charts in many countries across the globe.
On the first day of its release, the album racked up an impressive total of 39,653,740 filtered streams across all of its tracks, setting a new record for the biggest debut of any K-pop solo album in Spotify history.
All of the songs from “GOLDEN” also made the top 30 of Spotify’s daily Global Top Songs chart. Jungkook’s smash hit pre-release single “Seven” (featuring Latto) returned to No. 1, while his new title track “Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 2 with 6,472,019 filtered streams.
Jungkook’s second pre-release single “3D” (featuring Jack Harlow) stayed strong at No. 7, followed by his new B-sides “Hate You” at No. 16, “Yes or No” at No. 18, “Please Don’t Change” (featuring DJ Snake) at No. 23, “Closer to You” (featuring Major Lazer) at No. 24, “Somebody” at No. 27, “Shot Glass of Tears” at No. 28, and “Too Sad to Dance” at No. 29.
Meanwhile, “GOLDEN” also sold over 2 million copies on the first day of its release alone, breaking the records for both the highest first-day and first-week sales of any solo album in Hanteo history in just one day.
