Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ in top 10 on 2nd week on Billboard Hot 100 chart

K-pop boy band BTS member Jungkook’s solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)” remained in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after debuting at No. 1 last week.

According to Billboard, “Seven” is No. 9 on the Aug. 5-dated Hot 100 chart but the article announcing the latest ranking did not mention the song’s streams, airplay audience and digital and CD singles sales data.

The Hot 100 chart is based on “all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations.”

“Seven” debuted at No. 1 on the July 29-dated Hot 100 chart with “21.9 million streams, 6.4 million in airplay audience and 153,000 combined digital and CD singles sold from its release July 14 through July 20, according to Luminate,” Billboard reported last week.

Jason Aldean’s song “Try That in a Small Town,” which sparked controversy, is No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart.

In addition, “Seven” maintained its No. 1 position for the second week on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts dated Aug. 5.

The two charts “rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the United States.”

“Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations,” according to Billboard.

On the Billboard Global 200, “Seven” garnered “152.1 million streams (down 30%) worldwide July 21-27.”

On the Global Excl. US chart, Seven” received “138.1 million streams (down 29%) outside the U.S. July 21-27.”
