Jin Replaces Himself At No. 1 On A Billboard Chart

All seven members of BTS have taken a turn showing the world who they are outside of the massively popular boy band. Throughout the years, all of the singers that make up the group have released material on their own, and they’ve enjoyed varying levels of success on the Billboard charts in America. At the moment, it’s Jin’s turn to shine, and he’s keeping his stay in the spotlight going with another smash single.

Jin earns a new No. 1 hit in the U.S. this week. His tune “Falling” rises to the top spot on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, and it hasn’t been very long since he was last in charge of the tally.

The South Korean superstar replaces himself in first place on the ranking of the bestselling tracks in the country that Billboard classifies as “world,” which usually means performed in a language other than English or Spanish. Last week, he was in charge of the same roster, though with a different piece of music.

Jin debuted his tune “Heart on the Window” at No. 1 on last week’s World Digital Song Sales chart. Joining him in the win was fellow South Korean musician Wendy, who is best known as part of the girl group Red Velvet. Now, that track has vanished completely from the tally, as Jin swaps one winner for another.

“Falling” started at No. 4 on the World Digital Song Sales chart last time around. It’s the only one of five tracks from Jin that took up space on the list just a few days ago that manages to hold on, as the other four have disappeared.

Jin has now collected half a dozen leaders on the World Digital Song Sales ranking, and that number only reflects his solo work. He’s reached the top 10—though the ranking only features 10 spaces these days, though it was once more than twice as long—with at least 10 tracks, and his actual number is likely a bit higher.

“Falling” is, somewhat ironically, on the rise on every chart it appears on. In addition to the World Digital Song Sales list, the track also climbs on the Billboard Global Excl. US, the company’s tally of the most-consumed tunes around the world, only with all listening data from America removed. “Falling” soars from No. 158, where it launched, to No. 119, which marks a new high point.
