In a heartfelt and candid interview on Salon Drip2, BTS’ Jin shared personal insights and stories ahead of the release of his highly anticipated solo album, Happy. The 38-minute and 45-second episode, titled ARMY! Our JIN is amazing! | EP.64 JIN | Salon Drip2, was featured on the TEO Universe channel (TEO 테오), where the singer delved into his experiences at Milan Fashion Week, his creative journey, and the deep bond he shares with his fans.
During the interview, host Jang Doyeon touched on Jin’s recent viral moments at Milan Fashion Week on September 20, 2024, where fans gathered in droves, chanting his name and showing their unwavering support. Jin expressed profound gratitude for the fans’ presence, admitting that it gave him a sense of courage and comfort in what could have been an overwhelming situation.
"I saw! So many people came, which I was so thankful about... Sometimes, when I have to attend events like that where I don't know other people, I get so lost! I'm super shy," Jin confessed. He continued, sharing how their encouragement helped him feel more confident and less isolated. "As someone who is very thankful for my fans, it’s my job to make them happy! I keep those words in my heart!"
The interview also touched on Jin’s solo career, particularly his upcoming album, Happy. Reflecting on his first solo performance, the Astronaut singer admitted feeling nervous initially but soon found comfort on stage. He described the process of creating the album as both challenging and liberating, with more personal responsibility but also the creative freedom to express his individuality.
Happy, as Jin explained, is an album about joy. "It's an album full of happiness," he said, revealing that one of his favorite lyrics expresses his wish for fans to experience deep, lasting happiness rather than fleeting moments. "I want people to be happy. I hope it brings happiness to them in the long run," Jin added.
In a lighthearted moment, Jin shared an amusing story about a recent gaming achievement. After three hours of effort, he managed to defeat the "Boss" in a game, which he described as a much-needed break from his hectic life. Gaming, he revealed, serves as an outlet to unwind and reconnect with himself.
Jin also spoke about his experiences during his military service, explaining how it fueled his creative drive. Despite being away from his fans, he found solace in creating new ideas, eventually leading to the creation of a special fan song titled *I Will Come To You*. He wrote the song, which expresses his longing to reunite with fans, in just a day or two. "It's called I Will Come To You. I packed the song with my longing. 'I will be there soon. I will soon leave this place to get to you, so please wait for me,'" Jin explained.
The singer-songwriter revealed that about 30% of the song’s lyrics were inspired by his time in the military, making the track especially meaningful for both him and his fanbase, ARMY. "It is ,” he acknowledged, emphasizing the emotional value behind the song and his upcoming album.
Looking forward, Jin’s solo debut album, Happy, is set to be released on November 15, 2024, at 2 PM KST. As part of the album rollout, he released the pre-release single, *I’ll Be There*, on October 25, 2024, giving fans a glimpse of the uplifting and emotional journey he’s about to embark on.
Jin’s Happy is shaping up to be a deeply personal and joyful project, marking an exciting new chapter in his career as a solo artist and reaffirming the powerful bond he shares with his fans.
