Jimin from pop mega-group BTS has become the fastest solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify (male) in just 393 days.

His bandmate Jungkook set this record just two months ago, but it took him 16 days longer.

Jimin’s six-track EP FACE was uploaded to Spotify on 24 March and was the catalyst for his surge in popularity, with support from the singles “With You” (feat. Ha Sung-woon), “VIBE” (TAEYANG feat. Jimin), “Set Me Free Pt. 2” and “Angel Pt. 1” (feat. Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE & Muni Long).

He also had a five-track EP titled Like Crazy and even released singles “Promise” (2018) and “Christmas Love” (2020) exclusively on Soundcloud.

As aforementioned, Jungkook set the record two months before with just three songs released to the public.

Despite not releasing music as a septuplet for a while, BTS have continued to break records in 2023.

Their music has been streamed a massive 31,960,000,000 times as of 3 March, making them the most streamed male group on Spotify.

In 2023, they were also awarded the following:

- Most followers on Instagram for a music group
- Most followers on Twitter for a music group
- Most followers on TikTok for a music group

They already hold records for the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours and becoming the first K-pop act to reach No.1 on the US albums chart.
