Jimin Breaks Billboard 200 Record For Longest-Charting K-Pop Solo Album

Jimin has made Billboard 200 history with his latest solo album!

On January 14 local time, Billboard revealed that Jimin’s second solo album “MUSE”—which initially debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 back in July—was now spending its 25th consecutive week on the chart at No. 135.

With this achievement, Jimin has become the first Korean soloist ever to chart an album for 25 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200. (His bandmate Jungkook’s solo debut album “GOLDEN” also spent 25 weeks on the Billboard 200, but they were non-consecutive—meaning that the album dropped off the chart after 24 weeks, then re-entered it months later.)

Jimin’s title track “Who” also spent its 24th non-consecutive week on Billboard’s Hot 100 at No. 39, extending its own record as the second longest-charting K-pop solo song in Hot 100 history (bested only by PSY’s 2012 hit “Gangnam Style”).

Outside of the Billboard 200, “MUSE” held steady at No. 2 in its 25th consecutive week on Billboard’s World Albums chart, while “Who” climbed back up to No. 8 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and stayed strong at No. 13 on the Global 200.

Congratulations to Jimin on his new Billboard 200 record!
