J-Hope will make a guest appearance to support his senior Lee Hyun, who is taking on a new role as a radio DJ.
According to entertainment insiders on November 19th KS, J-Hope will appear as the first guest on the November 25th broadcast of MBC FM4U’s ‘Close Friend with Lee Hyun’, marking Lee Hyun’s debut as the program’s host.
Lee Hyun will helm the show, which airs Monday through Thursday at midnight. Taking over from GOT7’s Youngjae, who wrapped up his tenure on November 22nd KST, Lee Hyun is set to explore in-depth stories about K-pop through the program.
Previously, MBC Radio teased a “special guest” joining Lee Hyun on his first day as DJ to celebrate the inaugural broadcast. That special guest has been revealed to be BTS’s J-Hope.
J-Hope and Lee Hyun are labelmates under Big Hit Music. As Big Hit’s first artist since 2007, Lee Hyun has witnessed BTS’s rise from debut to global stardom. Known as a senior who has closely supported BTS, Lee Hyun has often showcased his bond with the group through in-house content and dance challenges.
J-Hope, who was discharged from military service on October 17th, has been actively resuming his career. After throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the second game of the Korean Series, this radio appearance will mark another highlight, offering a meaningful treat for ARMY (BTS’s official fan base) eagerly awaiting his return.
Excitement is also building for J-Hope’s full-fledged comeback to his primary career. Following his discharge, he reentered the U.S. Billboard charts, solidifying his global influence. His special album ‘Hope on the Street Vol.1’, released in March, saw its track ‘on the street (solo version)’ climb to second place on Billboard’s ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart as of October 26th.
