J-Hope, Ive to headline Lollapalooza Berlin in July

J-Hope of BTS and Ive will headline the Lollapalooza Berlin music festival, set to take place July 12-13 at Olympiastadion Berlin in the German capital.

Lollapalooza, an esteemed large music festival that began touring the US in 1991 before settling its main edition in Chicago, now holds multiple international editions, including in Brazil, France and Germany.

The 2024 Lollapalooza Berlin lineup includes J-Hope and Ive, alongside global pop stars Justin Timberlake, Benson Boone and Armin van Buuren.

Lollapalooza Berlin described J-Hope as a "pioneer and icon," adding, "He is something that makes the hearts of the entire generation beat. J-Hope's music combines hip-hop, pop and infinite energy. His show, which is incomparable to anything else, transcends boundaries with its strong presence and musicality."

This marks J-Hope’s second performance at Lollapalooza. In July 2022, he made history as the first K-pop artist to headline Lollapalooza Chicago, where he captivated a crowd of over 105,000, performing an energetic 18-song set that received widespread acclaim.

Ive is also scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza Paris on July 20, becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at three separate Lollapalooza festivals, having also played at Lollapalooza Chicago in August last year.

Before taking the stage in Berlin, J-Hope will kick off his first solo world tour with three days of concerts under the banner "Hope on the Stage," Feb. 28 to March 2 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. The tour will then continue to 15 cities around the world, including New York, Chicago, Mexico City, Philippine capital Manila and Saitama in Japan, for a total of 31 performances.

Ive recently wrapped up promotions for the group's third mini album, "Ive Empathy," which landed on Billboard's world albums chart and several other global music charts.
