BTS may be on a hiatus at the moment, but they are also enjoying an especially lucrative period on one Billboard chart. Even though the band isn't releasing anything new, they are still dominating one ranking as fans keep snapping up some of their oldest works.
The South Korean boy band replaces themselves at No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart this week. It’s not often that any artist trades one chart-topper for another, but BTS’s performance is even more impressive, considering all of their recent winners are actually years old.
BTS currently controls the World Digital Song Sales chart with their track “No More Dream.” The tune returned to the ranking last week at No. 6. Now, it rises to the summit, hitting the No. 1 spot for the first time.
Last period, BTS also dominated the World Digital Song Sales chart, though they reigned with a different cut. BTS bolted to the peak position on the 10-spot tally last time around with “Spring Day.” That tune falls from No. 1 to No. 8 in its sixty-fourth frame on the roster.
Certain songs in BTS’s catalog have been surging in popularity in the past week or so. Fans around the world—and especially in the U.S.—have been buying some of the band’s older releases in large numbers to support the group as they take time off to serve in the South Korean military.
