BTS members Jimin and Jungkook set even more records with solo careers

BTS stars Jimin and Jungkook are contiunuing to smash chart records in their solo careers during their scheduled break as a band.

All seven members of the K-pop group are still active in the industry, although it's Jimin and Jungkook who have most recently entered the record books.

The "explicit version" of "Seven" by Jungkook has become the most streamed track on Spotify in one week (male) with 89,748,171 streams.

On the first day of release, "Seven" logged 15,995,378 plays to become the second most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours by a male vocalist, just shy of the 16,103,849 recorded by Harry Styles’s "As It Was" on 1 April 2022.

The popularity of "Seven" then stayed strong throughout the week, with at least 11.6 million streams on each of the seven days in the tracking week ending 20 July 2023.

The song has therefore gone on to become the fastest time for a music track to reach 100 million streams on Spotify (male), registering 100 million filtered streams on Spotify by 21 July 2023 – the eighth day after its worldwide release on 14 July – according to Spotify’s “Daily Top Songs Global”.

"Flowers" by Miley Cyrus also logged a cumulative 100 million filtered streams on Spotify on its eighth day of availability, 20 January 2023, starting with an unrivalled 96.03 million plays in the first week. This record category has now been split into male and female.

"Seven" was Jungkook's latest solo single and features American rapper and singer Latto.

And over on alternative streaming service SoundCloud, Jimin has broken two records for his 2018 single "Promise".

On 17 June 2023, "Promise" became the most streamed track on SoundCloud with 330 million plays.

It was the first single released by Jimin, and upon its release back in December 2018, it went on to become the most streamed track on SoundCloud in 24 hours.

It was only back in May when Jimin set his last record for becoming the fastest solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify (male).

Fellow bandmate Jungkook set this record just two months previous, but it took him 16 days longer.

As part of the band BTS, their music has been streamed a massive 31,960,000,000 times as of 3 March, making them the most streamed male group on Spotify.

In 2023, they were also awarded the following:

- Most followers on Instagram for a music group
- Most followers on Twitter for a music group
- Most followers on TikTok for a music group

They already held records for the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours and becoming the first K-pop act to reach No.1 on the US albums chart.
