Big Hit Music took action against the breach of BTS members' rights.
On January 9, Big Hit Music released a statement explaining,
"Last month, we sent proof that 'The Camp' used BTS's portraits and names without permission, violating publicity rights."
The agency continued, "We will strengthen monitoring and take strict measures regarding actions that infringe on publicity rights, where the company and the artist have invested significant capital effort."
'The Camp' is an online service that allows family and acquaintances to send internet letters to military trainees through a mobile app and website.
Big Hit Music recently discovered 'The Camp' was using BTS members' portraits and names and sent proof of the infringement of BTS's publicity rights to Enable Down Soft, the operating company of 'The Camp.'
It was found that 'The Camp' operated individual communities for each BTS member without their consent, utilizing their portraits, names, and other key intellectual properties.
Although 'The Camp' has currently taken down BTS-related posts, they have not officially released a statement.
