From K-pop to the world of animation, superstar group BTS is going into a new realm with its series Bastions, which is being teamed up with Crunchyroll, as reported by Deadline. The deal struck for the superhero series was between the streaming service and producer Thymos Media for the global rights. The deal for the rights excludes China, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, and South Korea. The five-episode series will air on Saturdays, starting this week (May 13).

BTS will deliver a superhero adventure with Bastions. This superhero universe is a popularity contest. The show follows a group of amateur heroes who rise to stardom after discovering a villain’s identity behind environmental damage.

In part of backing up Bastions, BTS will compose the music for the main theme. Newcomers to the K-pop scene, Le Sserafilm, will be featured in the soundtrack with Heiza, AleXa. Brave Girls, P. Cassady, and more artists.

Fans of the K-pop supergroup have been hungry for something new from the band. They have been on hiatus and will return to their music career in 2025. The group has mandatory military service for the South Korean military. Still, their creative endeavors have not stopped entirely with the superhero series. It should give the ARMY something to taste while their favorite group return from military service.

Three weeks ago (April 13), BTS gave a taste of Bastions with its opening theme. We got a look at the animation style along with how the music will sound. It will be a highly colorful, action-packed experience when it releases this Saturday.

The musical group was formed in 2010. While innovating their sound, they have released hit songs like Dynamite, Mic Drop, Boy With Luv, and Butter. They have been nominated for five Grammys during their career.
